There's a sort of numbness that comes along with watching too much tv, or simply anything that doesn't contribute to one's spiritual growth... It's during those times that the small voice, pleading to be heard, cries out "pray, pray, pray!". And it is here that one is faced with the option to either obey that little voice, or to disregard it and push it back with all the other things he considers menial and unworthy of attention.

It is when we continue to hush that small whisper that we will find ourselves hardened to God, and not only God, but His word, prayer, and anyone who reminds us of Him.

God, save us from ourselves.

"Therefore, prepare your minds for action, keep sober in spirit, fix your hope completely on the grace to be brought to you at the revelation of Jesus Christ. As obedient children, do not be conformed to the former lusts which were yours in your ignorance, but like the Holy One who called you, be holy yourselves also in all your behavior; because it is written, 'YOU SHALL BE HOLY, FOR I AM HOLY.'" -1 Peter 1:13-16
