"Oh, that I might never loiter on my heavenly journey!" - David Brainerd

He was despised and forsaken of men,
A man of sorrows and acquainted with grief;
And like one from whom men hide their face
He was despised, and we did not esteem Him.
-Isaiah 53:3

What a sad thing it is that so many have lost sight of the consuming fire of God's love! We have become so utterly entrenched with the dull things of this world. Christ talked of these as seeds fallen amidst the weeds, "choked out by the worries of the world." How sad is it that we who have received eternal life from God, being adopted as His children, are now wasting our lives with our television, internet, relationships, occupations, selfish ambitions, etc. Christ died so that we might live to Him! We have taken God's greatest gift and traded it for filth.
O, taste and see that the Lord is good! If we only knew the great love of God for His elect we would not hesitate to come before Him in humble adoration. That we might return to our first love!

Maranatha! Come, Lord Jesus!
